# Registering with Apple

> Apple Business Register, brand verification and MSP linkage — with realistic timelines.

This is an Apple process, not a Tied one. Tied is your Messaging Service Provider inside it, but the account, the brand assets and the approval are all yours and all on Apple's timetable.

<Warning>
  **Budget 4–6 weeks.** Apple reviews your business identity and brand assets manually. There is no
  expedited path, and Tied cannot escalate a pending review. Start on day one and launch on
  [web chat](/channels/web-chat) meanwhile.
</Warning>

## What you need before you start

Gathering these first is the single biggest thing you can do to avoid a rejection cycle:

| | |
| - | - |
| **Legal business entity** | The registered name, matching your other public records |
| **A D-U-N-S number** | Apple uses it to verify the business exists. Free, but can itself take days |
| **Brand assets** | Logo in the sizes Apple specifies, and your brand colour |
| **A support website** | Reachable, with your business identity clearly on it |
| **A privacy policy** | Publicly accessible |
| **Contact details** | Matching the registered entity |

<Tip>
  **Get the D-U-N-S number first if you do not have one.** It is free from Dun & Bradstreet, it is a
  prerequisite rather than a step, and obtaining it in parallel with everything else is the most common
  way a registration ends up taking eight weeks instead of four.
</Tip>

## The sequence

<Steps>

    presence.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit your brand assets" icon="image">
    Logo and brand colour. Apple applies these to the conversation, so what you upload is what customers
    see in Messages — treat it as a brand review, not a form field.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apple verifies your business" icon="shield-check">
    The long part. Apple confirms the entity is real, that you are entitled to represent the brand, and
    that your public presence matches. Most delays happen here, and most of those are mismatches between
    the registered name and the website.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link Tied as your MSP" icon="link">
    Nominate Tied as your Messaging Service Provider. This is what allows messages to route to your Tied
    inbox rather than somewhere else.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apple issues your credentials" icon="key">
    Once approved you receive the identifiers needed to connect. Take those to
    [Connecting your inbox](/channels/apple-messages/connect).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Common reasons a registration stalls

* **Name mismatch.** The registered legal entity does not match the name on the website or the D-U-N-S record. Apple is strict about this.
* **Logo does not meet spec.** Wrong dimensions, wrong background, insufficient contrast.
* **Support website is thin.** A landing page with no evident business behind it reads as unverifiable.
* **No privacy policy**, or one that is not publicly reachable.
* **D-U-N-S not obtained**, or obtained against a differently-named entity.

None of these are hard to fix. All of them restart a review that takes weeks.

## Let us do it instead

Our team can run the entire process for you — application, brand asset preparation, verification follow-up and go-live. Given how much of the timeline is avoidable rework, this is worth considering even if you are comfortable with the mechanics.

The same applies to [Google RCS](/channels/rcs), and one conversation covers both.
