# How Tied compares

> Where per-resolution AI support vendors publish their resolution rules, where they stop, and what Tied Teammate publishes in addition. Every competitor claim links to the vendor's own page and carries a check date.

This page is deliberately separate from [What counts as a resolution](/pricing/resolutions). That page is a reference you can audit Tied against. This one is a comparison, and it only makes claims you can verify on the vendors' own pages. It repeats none of Tied's definitions; it links to them.

<Info>
  **How to read the dates.** Every competitor claim below was read on the vendor's own published page and
  is stamped **checked 2026-10-18**. Vendors change pricing and wording without notice. If a page here
  disagrees with the vendor's current page, the vendor's page wins and we want to hear about it.
</Info>

## The difference this page is about

Per-resolution vendors all tell you what a resolution costs. The thing that decides your invoice is not the price. It is the **test** that decides whether a given conversation was a resolution, and what you can do when you disagree with it.

The vendors below do publish a definition of a resolution. What is harder to find on their own pages is:

1. A test you could run yourself against a conversation and get the same answer the vendor's billing did.
2. A published way to challenge a billed outcome, and a published credit path when you win.

That is the structural difference. It is not a claim that competitors hide their prices. They do not. It is a claim about which parts of the billing decision are written down.

## What each vendor publishes

All prices are in USD, as the vendors list them. Checked 2026-10-18.

### Fin (Intercom)

| Topic | What Fin's own pages say | Source |
| - | - | - |
| Price | USD 0.99 per outcome; one outcome is billed per conversation at most. | [Fin pricing](https://fin.ai/pricing), [Fin pricing: Outcomes](https://fin.ai/help/en/articles/13975800-fin-pricing-outcomes) |
| What a resolution is | Counted after Fin's last answer when the customer confirms it helped, or leaves without asking for more help. The help article calls these confirmed and assumed resolutions. | [Fin AI Agent outcomes](https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/8205718-fin-ai-agent-outcomes) |
| Assumed-resolution window | The Fin help page states that a customer leaving for 24 hours after the last answer, without asking for more help, counts. | [Fin pricing: Outcomes](https://fin.ai/help/en/articles/13975800-fin-pricing-outcomes) |
| Not billed | Escalations under default behavior or workspace rules, procedures that fail to finish, and conversations that auto-close after an unanswered clarifying question. | [Fin pricing: Outcomes](https://fin.ai/help/en/articles/13975800-fin-pricing-outcomes) |
| Reversal | A resolution is deducted if the customer later returns to that conversation for more help, even in a later billing period. | [Fin AI Agent outcomes](https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/8205718-fin-ai-agent-outcomes) |
| Visibility | Resolution state (confirmed, assumed, escalated, abandoned) is available as a filter value in reporting. | [Fin AI Agent reporting](https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/7837533-fin-ai-agent-reporting) |
| Dispute process | We found none described on the pages above. | Same pages |

### Text (Text, Inc., formerly LiveChat)

We chose **Text's AI Agent product** (the one sold by Text, Inc. and billed per resolution), because it is the only Text product with a published per-resolution definition. Text's chat products are separate and are not compared here.

| Topic | What Text's own pages say | Source |
| - | - | - |
| Included resolutions | Essential (USD 19 per user per month, billed yearly) includes 10 per month. Growth (USD 79 per user per month, billed yearly) includes 200 per month. | [Text pricing](https://www.text.com/pricing/) |
| Extra resolutions | Packages of 50 for USD 49.50, which the page equates to USD 0.99 each. | [Text pricing](https://www.text.com/pricing/), [AI agents help](https://www.text.com/help/ai-agents/) |
| What a resolution is | The AI agent gives an answer that directly solves at least one customer question. One charge per conversation. | [AI agents help](https://www.text.com/help/ai-agents/) |
| Not counted | Chats with no solution, irrelevant or incomplete answers, tests, spam, non-support chats, and handoffs before any question was answered. | [AI agents help](https://www.text.com/help/ai-agents/) |
| Dispute process | We found no appeal, dispute, refund or audit process described on the help article (dated 16 Jul 2026), and no per-conversation reasoning for a counted resolution. | [AI agents help](https://www.text.com/help/ai-agents/) |

### Zendesk

Included because Zendesk's own help center publishes a resolution definition.

| Topic | What Zendesk's own pages say | Source |
| - | - | - |
| Unit | An automated resolution is the unit used to measure and bill AI agent usage; you pay for requests the AI agent resolves without escalation to a human. | [Zendesk pricing](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) |
| Tiers | Three tiers, introduced 18 May 2026: assisted escalation, contained resolution, verified resolution. The first two do not count against the allowance. | [About automated resolution tiers](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/9570369117338-About-automated-resolution-tiers) |
| How "verified" is decided | A large language model reviews the conversation text after it ends and checks whether the request was satisfactorily resolved. The page gives no scoring rubric. | [About automated resolution tiers](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/9570369117338-About-automated-resolution-tiers) |
| When a conversation ends | Email: 72 hours after the first email. Messaging: 2 hours after the first message by default, extendable up to 72 hours through Zendesk support. Voice: at hangup. | [About automated resolution tiers](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/9570369117338-About-automated-resolution-tiers) |
| Dispute process | We found none described on that page. | Same page |

## What Tied Teammate publishes in addition

Tied publishes the test itself, as reference documentation, and does not rely on a customer-behaviour proxy alone. The details are on the definitions pages, not here:

* **The billability test, in full:** [What counts as a resolution](/pricing/resolutions). It states what bills, what never bills, and that silence is never a signal.
* **Each class's mechanical test:** [Resolution pricing](/pricing/resolution-pricing). A class is decided by a predicate evaluated against the action audit trail, so you can reproduce it.
* **A receipt for every resolution, and a way to dispute it:** described on the definitions page, along with the void windows and how credits post. See also [Billing and invoices](/pricing/billing).

Read those pages as a skeptic. If anything there is vague, that is a bug in our documentation, and the whole point of keeping the comparison separate is that you can judge the definitions without it.

## What this page does not claim

* It does not claim a vendor's resolution rate, accuracy or invoice is wrong. Nothing here has been measured against a vendor's real billing.
* It does not compare price per resolution as a headline. The vendors price different things (some include seats, allowances or minimums) and a single figure would mislead.
* It does not rest on competitors' marketing or third-party reviews. Where we could not find a claim on a vendor's own page, we left it out.

## Review cadence

<Warning>
  Competitor pages change. An unreviewed comparison becomes the least accurate page on this site.
</Warning>

| | |
| - | - |
| **Cadence** | Quarterly. Next review due **2027-01-18**. Also re-check on any vendor pricing announcement. |
| **Owner** | Pricing owner (currently Logan Miller). Update the owner here if it changes. |
| **How to re-check** | Open each source link in the tables above and confirm every row still matches what the page literally says. Update the check date on each row you re-read, even if nothing changed. |
| **If a source changed** | Rewrite the row to the new wording, with its link and the new date. If a claim can no longer be found on the vendor's own page, delete the row rather than keep it. |
| **If a source disappears** | Remove the claim. Never keep a claim whose page you can no longer read. |
| **Before publishing changes** | Confirm nothing here contradicts [What counts as a resolution](/pricing/resolutions) or [Resolution pricing](/pricing/resolution-pricing). |
